From Marty: Prior to our trip to Benin, we had a very emotional day with the Vogan church. The more time we spend trying to help them sort out their difficulties and reconcile, the more complicated reconciliation seems to become. We need your prayers daily for them. We do know that the peace and love will come when people turn their hearts fully to Jesus. Hammer and Dela are deeply discouraged and they could use your prayers as well. They have been the subject of verbal attacks night and day for the last several months. While in Benin we missed our time with Atitogon, but they seem to be doing extremely well with their local evangelism and their maturation studies for the leaders. We had a good meeting with Ahepe on Friday and they are the surprise of my week as they grow into faithfulness with the studies and the tasks involved. Afakomi Kope has some people ready to commit to Christ which is always a thrill, but one of the leader's wife has a heart condition that has discouraged him. Tabligbo grew by three this last weekend as a papa came to Jesus. We rejoiced to find out that Dzonou, the son of Ankou and Danny, the son of Koffi the Tailor were baptized as well. Tucker is especially excited to have two of his close friends now as his brothers in Christ. The all church conference is now just two and a half weeks away. Please keep the Nyinoume and Kpessou churches in your prayers as they prepare for this annual meeting as well as the other churches to attend this well.

From Louise: I thoroughly enjoyed the days we spent in Benin with the Vaughns, Baileys and Jim Kennell. The Baileys and Jim were missionaries with the Aja people and had returned to visit. We all spent time at the beach reminiscing some good old days. It was probably the most fun for the boys, as their playmates grew to thirteen kids! They were very sad when the visit had to come to an end. Now that we are home, Christine and I have been back at work on the teacher house. I am enjoying making new curtains for the rooms. Next week we hope to begin work on the school rooms. I am looking forward to the arrival of our teachers, Amy and Emily. Please pray for their preparations.

Our visitors were blessed in prayer by the leaders of the Atitogon cluster.

The boys enjoyed a campout in their new tent.

Louise and Diane listen intently at the cluster worship.

The boys are busy studying Ewe this summer.

From Murphy: Please continue to pray for Esi, the young woman with the headaches. I sent her to the hospital to get xrays which apparently showed nothing. The doctor from the clinic has referred her to the main hospital in the capital for further treatment since he doesn't know what else he can do for her. Pray that God would heal her.

Please continue to pray for the evangelism efforts in the Sedome/Batoe area, that the Lord would bless their desire to be fruitful and plant a new church this year. Pray that He will use them to boldly proclaim the Good News that will set many captives free!

From Christine: We ask your special prayers for Matthew right now who has come down with Malaria. Pray that God would heal his little body. Also, please continue to pray for our adoption, that God would continue to smooth out the road ahead of us so that we can bring our precious little daughter home.

Louise and I have been busy getting the school ready for the teachers and the beginning of the new school year. It's hard to believe that the summer has already passed by!

~ Anthony and Maureen Parker ~ Anthony's Blog ~ Maureen's Blog

We have enjoyed spending this week with Anthony’s family in North Alabama following his week taking a course in Chicago. The highlight of the week was that Maureen passed her test on the first attempt and received her Alabama’s driver license! Sunday we will be heading back to Birmingham. Jeremy plans to attend a four-day camp for first through third graders sponsored by Homewood children’s ministry. We will be moving into an apartment on Saturday, July 29. Several people are loaning us furniture and they've even planned a housewarming shower for Aug. 2nd after Bible classes at Homewood.
(Selections are at Target!)

As you continue to pray for the missionaries, the Christians, and the lost among the Watchi, please ask God to continue guiding our family to a another area of fruitful ministry.
